august 30th, 2009 update
we visited the toronto zoo today with alex, malcolm and catherine. luckily the weather held out and it didn't rain. keira had a great time running aorund and seeing all the animals. it was a lotof walking but everyone had a great time and keira got to touch a sting ray! here are the pics.

keira was in a cleaning mood over the weekend and decided to clean the floor of the kitchen and eating area. seems to me she just pushed the dirt around... hmmm.... heh heh. too funny. what a cutie.

the updates have been far and few between as i was travelling for work last week and have had some issues with my computer. but, here is some video of keira pulling herself up to a stand in her playpen. she can now do this on anything she can get her hands on. this brings a lot more stuff to within her reach. soon, she'll be walking. man!

we took keira on her first vacation this past week. we rented a cottage in the kawartha lakes area and took it easy. it was a really nice and relaxing time and keira really enjoyed the outdoors. here are some pics from the week at the cottage.

this was keira's first halloween! we put her in an orange jumper and she was a pumpkin for the night. she came to the door with us to give out candy and meet the neighbours. it was quite a fun evening and we had quite a few kids visit.

keira has recently taken quite a liking to her winnie the pooh toy. she loves it when we play with her with it as it make a jingle sound when you shake it and she grabs on to it when she's napping during the day. how cute is that?

some more pics and video from keira's one month old weekend celebration. alex, cat and malcolm came over for dinner tonight and we had a great feast of steak and chicken. mmmmm it was sooooo good.

keira is 1 month old today! it's hard to believe she is a month old already. she's getting bigger, starting to smile and is getting very interested in everything around her. she can hold her head up for a bit too - very impressive. happy 1 month keira! we'll get some pics and video up soon.

my parents came down to visit this weekend to meet keira for the first time. it was a great weekend and keira was the center of attention of course. here are some pics and video from the visit.

we gave keira a sponge bath today and took some pics of me holding her after we dried her off. she's so cute in that blanket! she even pulled a "paparazzi move" on us by covering up her face.

keira is 3 weeks old today! i am back to work now so this will be another adjustment for everyone. luckily i'm working from home so i'm never too far away. happy 3rd week keira! xoxo

our friends noodles and mo paid us a visit today and cooked us a nice home made meal of lasagna with fresh bread and a wonderful salad. it was really nice to be able to enjoy a whole meal. thanks guys!

my sister lynne and her husband mike came to visit keira today and we taped some of their visit. keira also worked on getting her head up while she was on my tummy.

keira is 2 weeks old today! it's hard to believe that it's been two weeks since she was born. the time has flown by. it has been an amazing and tiring experience so far and we are loving every minute of it. she is such a blessing and such a cutie too!

aug. 26th, 2006 update
today was a big day for keira. she lost her umbilical cord stump and she moved to the next size up in diapers. she's over the 8lb mark now and progressing just fine.

we got a new playpen as a gift from my coworkers on the ci project down in bethesda, maryland. wow - what an amazing gift. it came delivered to the house a couple of days a go. keira has been enjoying it ever since. check out the video of her in the playpen.
aug 16th, 2006 update
we have a baby girl!!! at 3:06pm on wed august 16th 2006 our little baby girl was born. her name is keira jordyn dittberner and she was 7lbs 15oz and 52cm long. we are all back from the hospital and doing fine. we are now adjusting to parent hood and the fact we won't be sleeping anytime soon.

mom and baby are both doing very well. thanks to everyone for the great wishes. we have received so much love from everyone. it truly is amazing.
aug 14th, 2006 update
well we're into "any day now" mode. at nikki's last appointment the doctor indicated that she was 1cm dilated. false labour seems to have started. not sure how effaced she is but the baby should arrive any day now. wow! so exciting. we're ready. everything is in place, all the bags are ready to go.
july 11th, 2006 update
nikki's due date has been moved up 1 day to aug. 20th, 2006. we have been busy getting the baby's room ready as well as washing all the baby's clothes that we received from the baby shower. i can't believe how much stuff we got.

we have had our pre-natal classes and they were amazing. lots of great information as well as tips and tricks to help us in the first couple of weeks. lots of information to take in.
march 31st, 2006 update
we've had our second ultrasound appointment and we were able to see the baby move its hands and legs as well as many details such as an ear, the mouth, lips, fingers, toes, the spine, the bladder, hips and eyes. it was really amazing. here are some scanned pics - clarity and detail is not that great.

yes! nikki is pregnant and expecting on aug. 21st, 2006. woohoo! much more info to come here, but for now here's a pic of our baby from our first ultrasound appointment. amazing isn't it?
